Christmas Ornament Help

Here is a plea for help that was posted recently on the Family Crafts Forum. Can you help Donna?

"I am using clear bulbs, pouring white paint inside, and will decorate the outside with glitter and rhinestones. The problem is the paint is cracking as it dries, or drying unevenly..."

Have you ever made ornaments like this? Can you help Donna? I have tried this craft before and not had any problems... The first thing that came to my mind was perhaps using a couple of thinner coats of paint inside. If you have a suggestion for Donna, take a moment to post a reply. I am sure she will appreciate it!
