This week's item is a clean, empty almond can. It is 2 1/2-inches tall and about 3 1/2-inches in diameter. As you can tell in the picture, there is a lid but any craft submitted does not have to include the lid. The label is easily removed. There are no sharp edges along the top opening.
How would you make this can over?

Please submit your ideas using this simple form. If you make the project you are submitting, take a picture of it and submit the photo to be feature here. Many of the submitted ideas will be shared in next week's Make It Over Monday blog post. I am hoping to even pick one idea and make it. Will it be your idea that get's chosen?

Well, the little grey cells are ticking over….! I shall get thinking and post my ideas later this week! Kate
Okay, here is my idea: since it is short, it would make a great centerpiece-flower-whateveryouwanttostickinit holder for a seasonal table look. Like a grad party, perhaps
I’d whip up some candle wax or parrafin and cover the outside with the wax. Then I’d fill the inside with candle wax/pariffin. Make a small whole in the middle that will fit one of those fake votive candles in that you just click on. There you have a candle that is perfectly safe.
PS error-put the wax on the outside of the CAN not wax. Senior moment.
I would cover it with some contact paper and use it (with lid) to keep quarters in for doing laundry.
It’s my toddler’s new drum. I’ll try to get the picture uploaded and sent.
I painted it with white craft paint and she covered it with stickers to decorate it.
I glued the plastic lid in place and added a ribbon so she could hang it around her neck and lay it with her hands.
I think it would make a handy sewing kit. Make the top a pin cushion, and cover the can with fabric. Small scissors and some thread inside.
I would take this and poke some holes in the lid. Hot glue some batting around it. Take some fabric and glue that on. You can take some lace, glue that on. now you have a cute desk top pencil holder which could also be used as a pin cushion. Ideal gift for those who still appreciate homemade simplicities for their desk.
I would take a piece of round material, sew around the edge with needle and thread and pull the thread to tighten but leave a small opening to stuff pillow cotton or sand in. Pull the threat tight and put glue where tightened and then turn upside down in small basket and use as a pin cushion. Keep in mind that sand will sharpen needles.
I will paint it and decorate it like a pot plant and decorate the pen like a flower put green ribbon around the pen and stick a flower on the top place the pen through the lid so it looks like a flower on the pot to decorate your desk or table top
enjoy it
What a cute, idea! Thanks for sharing it.
I have quite a few of these(I eat a lot of almonds). I am using them as favors for my quest at my annual cookie exchange. I will be decorating the sides with a nice floral fabric and adding a coordinating flower on top. All with my glue gun! My bite-size cookies will be inside. A yummy treat for my guest to enjoy at home, and then it can be used as a nice little candy dish.
I would turn it into a plant dish
or even a potpourri holder
