Make-It-Over Monday

Monday June 1, 2009
Did anyone miss me last Monday? Sorry I did not post a new Make-It-Over craft challenge last Monday. I will still laid up from having emergency surgery a few days before that. No worries though, I am on the mend and hoping to get everyone to play along with this week's Make-It-Over craft challenge. Here is this week's item:

It was a little chilly recently so I grabbed one of my heavier jackets and reached into the pockets to find only one glove. What would you make out of a lonely, single glove?

As always, you can share your idea using the comments feature on this blog post or by using this simple form. If you make the project you are submitting, take a picture of it and submit the photo to be feature here. Some of the submitted ideas will be shared in next week's Make-It-Over Monday blog post. Time permitting, I will try to make one or more of your submitted ideas.

You could add googly eyes on the back of the hand as well as maybe a piece of red pipe cleaner for a mouth and wear the glove on your hand as a spider puppet.

Hmmm … sew the fingers together and sew the wrist closed (flat) and make an interesting hot pad? Or embroider/stick bees/ladybugs on the fingertips and put a small flowerpot on it. If you made little felt or whatever insects, stick some on the flowerpot, too.

Two things come to mind when I see it (maybe will try making one or both)… but what comes to mind is first.. I would use moving eyes and felt pieces and create little faces on each finger to make mini hand puppets. the second idea that I popped into my head was to use a mug and glue one side of the glove to the mug in the position of like it was holding the mug.. so that when it dries, you can still put your in it. That way when the contents are somewhat hot.. you can have your hand insulated… or if it is cold

Darn, Carren got one of my ideas 1st ;-)

How about an oven mitt? Glue textured rubber or silicon dots to the fingertips for gripping and insulation and a larger piece on the palm for the same purpose.

I think they would be cute if you stuff the whole glove and on the fingers put googly eyes, small brown pompoms for the noses and long or short pieces of black, brown or white for the ears. Gather it up at the wrist and stitch closed, then put it in a small round basket to look like a basket full of puppies.
