Did you know if you capture a Leprechaun he will lead you to his pot of gold and give it to you as a bribe to let him go?

Leprechauns are tricky fellows, so you must be creative when deciding on a way to try to catch him. You can try to lure him to you and grab him, or you can try to build a Leprechaun trap. Try some of these fun and creative suggestions about how to make a Leprechaun trap. I can't guarantee you will catch one of these little fellows, but you will sure have fun trying!

My son is grown now, so I’d forgotten about leprechaun traps. Thanks for the memories. I especially enjoyed the photos.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Sherri!

I’d never heard of leprechaun traps actually being created! Great tips on how to trick the leprechaun.

Unfortunately, I think it might be easier for me to buy a lottery ticket than catch a leprechaun and earn his pot of gold! :)

I am a 2nd grade teacher and we absolutely love creating these. We give our students specifications … what is your lure, how will the leprechaun be ensnared, etc. They create a writing piece for a “how to” build my trap. They research leprechauns. We set them on March 16th and anxiously anticipate the results for St. Patrick’s Day!
I am always amazed year after year the new creativeness and ingenuity students have. Great recycle project!
