Clay Pot Coffee Filter Holder

By Sherri Osborn, About.com

Sharon explains how to make a personalized coffee filter holder using a terra cotta clay pot and a few other supplies.

Materials Needed:

  • 4 or 5-inch Terra Cotta Clay Pot
  • 4 or 5-inch Terra Cotta Clay Saucer (needs to be able to fit over top of clay pot when inverted)
  • Small Wooden Knob/Bead
  • Paint
  • Rubber Stamps of Choice (I used the coffee pot and coffee cup stamps on mine)
  • Clear Acrylic Sealer Spray
  • E-6000 Glue

Instructions:
Wipe down your terra cotta pot and saucer with a damp cloth and let dry completely.

Paint pot, saucer, and knob in your choice of colors. Use 2-3 coats. When completely dry, glue painted knob to the center of the inverted saucer. Let it dry for a good 8-12 hours.

While waiting for glue to dry on the knob, you may paint or stamp your design on the outside of pot and lid. When completely dry, apply a good spray coating of sealer to all parts, both inside and outside.

Place paper coffee filters inside and cover with lid. Then sit back and watch the raves from friends!
