Peek-A-Boo Barn Picture
Instructions for making picture of a barn with animals inside.

Materials Needed:

  • Construction Paper
  • Magazines
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil
Instructions:
Cut a large, red barn shape out of a piece of red construction paper. It might be easier to get a more even barn shape by folding the paper in half and cutting half the barn shape along the edges of the paper.

Cut several windows and doors in your barn as shown below. Do not cut out the windows and doors completely. Leave one side attached as illustrated by the dotted lines below. This will allow you to open and close the windows and doors.

Once all your windows and doors are cut, place your barn on a full sheet of construction paper. One at a time, gently hold open the doors and windows and trace lightly along the openings onto the construction paper below. You will use theseas a guideline for your farm animals.

Go through magazines and cut out pictures of animals and other things you would see on a farm. You want the pictures small enough to be able to fit in your windows and doors. Glue the animals onto the full sheet of construction paper in your traced boxes. Set aside the page to dry.

Once the glue is dry, glue your barn on top of the animals, making sure they will all be peeking out their designated window or door. You can then open and close the windows and doors to peek at the animals underneath them!
