Fire Cracker Pin
Make a fire cracker pin using a paper bag and a few other supplies.

Materials Needed:

  • Paper Bag
  • Paint or Markers
  • Metallic Chenille Stems
  • Glue
  • Pin Backing

Instructions:
Cut 2 small rectangles out of a paper bag (approximately 2" x 4"). We will glue these together to make the fire cracker . Use your paint or markers to decorate them both similar as to what is shown in figure 1.

Once the paint or marker is dry, flip over one of your painted rectangles and put glue on 3 of the sides as shown in figure 2. Place the other rectangle, painted side up, on top of the glue. Make sure the edges line up well. Let the glue dry completely.

Once the glue is dry, cut small pieces (about 1 inch square) from the paper bag; crumple them into small balls; and stuff them into the opening you left in the fire cracker. Stuff just enough to give the fire cracker some shape, but do not over stuff!

Next, cut a 2-3 inch piece from a couple different colors of metallic chenille stem. Twist one end of the chenille stems together and stick that end into the opening you used to stuff the fire cracker.

Glue the top edge of the fire cracker together. Be generous with the glue so it holds the chenille stem. Pinch the glued edge together for a few minutes, and then set it side to dry completely.

Once all the glue is dry, glue a pin backing onto one side of the tiny, stuffed fire cracker. Once it is dry, you can wear your fire cracker pin with pride!
