- Old Clay Pot
- Flat Marbles
- Joint Compound or Grout
Make sure your flower pot is clean and dry. Set it aside. Cover your work surface to protect it from the grout or joint compound.
If you are using grout, mix up a small batch using the directions on the package. Make sure it is a little on the thicker side. If you are using joint compound it is probably ready to use; however, you should ready the container to make sure there is nothing you need to do to prepare it.
Working on a small section of the pot at a time, spread the grout or joint compound onto the pot. Next, cover it with the flat marbles. You make have to experiment a little at first with how much grout or joint compound you should use to hold the marbles well. Continue working with small sections of the flower pot until it is completely covered.
When you are satisfied with how your planter looks, set it aside to dry. This may take several hours depending on how thick the grout or joint compound is. Once it is dry, it is ready to use.
