Peek-A-Boo Groundhog Craft
Instructions for making a Peek-A-Boo Groundhog puppet.

Materials Needed:
  • Felt
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Glue
  • Popsicle Stick
  • Small Paper Cup
Instructions:
Cut out a piece of felt to cover the top half of the popcicle stick. Glue into place (figure 1). Use the felt to cut out some features for your groundhog. You can make ears, nose, etc. Glue them into place along with the wiggle eyes (figure 2).

Cut a piece of felt wide enough to wrap around the outside of the cup and extend about 1 inch above the top of the cup. Cut small slits around the top edge of the felt just long enough to reach the top of the cup (figure 3). Wrap the felt piece around the cup and glue into place (figure 4).

Poke a slit in the bottom of the cup and stick the popsicle stick inside the cup and through the hole. You can now pull the popsicle stick out the bottom of the cup and make the groundhog "go in his hole" (figure 5), or push the popsicle stick up and make the groundhog "peek-a-boo out of his hole" (figure 6).
