Beaded Curtain

By Sherri Osborn, About.com

Jennifer S. explains how she made a beaded doorway curtain.

Materials Needed:

  • Neon Straws
  • Yarn
  • Artificial Flowers (optional)

Instructions:
My daughters and I wanted to hang beaded curtains in their room but were shocked at the $20.00 price tag (we would have needed about five sections totaling to $100.00!!!). Instead, we bought neon straws for $1.00 and a skein of yarn; as well as a few bundles of artificial flowers at $1.00 per bundle and decided to make our own curtains for about $5.00 total.

We cut the straws into 2" sections and threaded them onto 5' lengths of yarn interspersing flowers at various intervals. We also bought novelty beads for the ends and hung the strands from small hooks and the result is not only fabulous but much more durable!
