Color in Yourself Window Clings

By Sherri Osborn, About.com

Use these instructions to make your own window clings - submitted by Marie.

Materials Needed:

  • White polylining
  • Computer graphic or colouring book picture
  • Glossy black fabric paint (in squeeze bottle)
  • Washable markers (highlighter work well too!)
  • Newspaper (to protect work surface)
  • Scissors

Instructions:
I made these clings for my daughter's 8th Birthday Party and let the girls color them in. If you use the washable markers the clings can be washed out and then colored in again when dry!

  1. Spread out newspaper on your work surface.
  2. Spread out polylining over the newspaper.
  3. Position graphic (I used Butterflies) under the polylining for tracing.
  4. Start tracing with the black fabric paint (being very careful not to smudge!).
  5. Once you have completed the tracing let it dry forabout an hour.
  6. Cut out your traced graphics from the polylining.
  7. Color them in or let the kids do it!
  8. Remember to put something under the cling so that the markers don't bleed through the fabric ontoyour work surface.
  9. These clings can be stuck to your windows at home or in the car and can be washed out and colored again!

NOTE: You should be able to find polylining in a fabric store! If you have conflicting info about this, please let me know!
