Independence day is a very special day in the United States. On July 4th, we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress in 1776. Independence Day, often referred to as simply The Fourth of July, is celebrated in similar ways all over the United States.

Many people celebrate this day with red, white, and blue decorations and clothes; a fitting tribute to our grand flag. Another tradition on July 4th is fireworks. Although the use of fireworks is illegal in many states, you can usually find a community fireworks display near you.

Many people use this special day as an excuse to gather with family and friends. You will find many people having picnics and BBQs. They gather in backyards, beaches, and parks all over the country.
