Discover how easy it is to make an adorable angel by recycling a toilet paper roll and a paper plate. You can dress it up as much as you like using basic craft supplies.

  • Age Guideline: 8 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 45 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Paint the Lower 2/3 thirds of the toilet tissue roll white. Paint the upper third of the toilet tissue whatever color you want to skin to be. Cut the small paper plate in half. I 'painted' the backside of my paper plate with gold glitter fingernail polish to make it really shine!

Once you toilet tissue roll is dry, glue a piece of ribbon around the toilet tissue roll where the white and 'skin' color meets. You can glue another piece of ribbon along the bottom of the white edge of the toilet tissue roll. Glue the bottom side of the paper plate to the toilet tissue roll. Make the straight edge of the paper plate line up on the toilet tissue roll where the white and 'skin' color meets.

To make the hair, cut several (I mean a lot! :-) of pieces of yarn about 6 inches long - the more the better. Lay the yarn pieces down so that the ends are lined up and tie them together with another piece of yarn. Run a generous bead of glue along the inside top edge of the toilet tissue roll and then stuff the tied ends of the yarn 'wig' into the top of the toilet tissue roll. Fluff out the hair as desired. Form one end of a pipe cleaner into a halo shape with about 4 inches left hanging straight. Gently work the straight edge into the wig to make the angel's halo.

For the finishing touches, I added wiggle eyes, a tiny pom-pom for the nose, and a small heart cut from construction paper for the mouth!
