Mouse Cages Craft

By Sherri Osborn, About.com

Instructions for making a pretend mouse in a cage.

Materials Needed:

  • Cardboard (from a cereal box, etc)
  • Strawberry Basket
  • Pom-Pom
  • Yarn
  • Wiggly Eyes
  • Glue

Instructions:
Trace the opening end of the strawberry basket onto a piece of cardboard. Cut out the cardboard shape you just traced. Glue a large pom-pom (Preferably white, gray, or tan) onto the center or your cardboard cut-out (make sure and writing or pictures on your cardboard is facing down so you don't see it). Glue a small piece of yarn on one side of your pom-pom (this will be the mouse's tail), and glue the wiggly eyes on the other side. You can also use a scrap of construction paper and make ears if you like. Now carefully glue the piece of cardboard onto the strawberry basket so it looks like your mouse is in a cage! Be very generous with the glue. You can also use a pipecleaner on the top of your mouse cage to be a handle.
