Pine Cone Skier Craft

By Sherri Osborn, About.com

Instructions to make a cute skier out of a pine cone submitted by Ruth.

Materials Needed:

  • Pine Cone
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Wooden Ball Head
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Toothpicks
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Felt
  • Glue

Instructions:
Hey there, we have a really cute skier made out of a pinecone. You attach the pine cone to 2 popsicle sticks and use tooth picks for the ski poles (pipe cleaners are bent to be the hands and hold the poles. The head is made from a large bead and googly eyes attached. A cap of felt with a wool tassle completes the skier.

Variation From Pam - "I came across your Pine Cone Skier project, and it reminded me of my Grandma. She used to make these as ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree. Anyway, I thought I'd share with you her cute idea for how to do these... she used acorns for the heads. The 'cap' of the acorn makes a cute ski-cap look."
