Pine Cone Snow People
Special thanks to H Marie for inspiring this idea!

Materials Needed:
  • Pine Cone
  • Paint
  • 1 inch White Pom-Pom
  • 1 inch Red Pom-Pom
  • 1/4 Inch Green Pom-Pom
  • Orange Pipe Cleaner
  • Beads
  • Twigs
  • Ribbon
  • Glue
Instructions:
Paint the pine cone white. This will be your snow person's body. Glue the white pom-pom onto the pinty top of the pine cone for your snow person's head. Find two tiny twigs and glue them in place for the snow person's arms.

I made my snow person's face using an orange pipe cleaner as the nose, seed beads to form the mouth, and slightly larger beads for the eyes.

For the hat, I trimmed one edge of the red pom-pom and glued it on. I make a ball on the red hat with a small, green pom-pom. I wrapped about a 6 inch piece of ribbon around the neck.

Get creative and make a variety of snow people for winter decorating. They also make neat Christmas tree decorations and gifts!

A variation from K Creamer: "Here is what I used:

  • 2 wiggly eyes,
  • 1 long pipe cleaner
  • 1/4 of a pipe cleaner - for the ear muffs
  • 4 mini pom poms
  • 1 styrofoam ball - based on the size of your pinecone
  • 1 mini icicle ornament - for the nose
  • either a bow made from ribbon or a scarf made from felt or think ribbon
  • White Spray Paint
  • Orange paint for the nose
  • Tacky Glue
