Pot of Kisses

By Sherri Osborn, About.com

Make a collection of these flowers made using Hershey Kisses candies - submitted by Nettie from VA .

Materials Needed:

  • Clay pot
  • Potting foam
  • Moss
  • Valentine paper
  • Ribbon
  • Green craft foam
  • Silver Hersey Kisses
  • Clear red cellophane paper
  • Floral wire
  • Green floral tape
  • Green pipe cleaners

Instructions:
Cut the flower foam so it fits into the pot, place it in the clay pot and place the the moss on top. Set the clay pot in the center of the valentine paper and pull the paper up around the pot. Tie a ribbon into a pretty bow around the pot to hold the paper in place. Set it aside while you make the flowers.

Cut the green craft foam to make leaves, two for each flower. Take two Hersey Kisses and hold them flat sides together. Wrap the candy Kisses with the red clear cellophane paper, and cut to fit and secure with a piece of clear tape. This will be your rose bud. Poke one end of a piece of floral wire into one of the pointy ends of your 'rose bud'. Wrap the floral tape around the wire. Cut a small slit into each leaf, and stick the green pipe cleaner into the leaf holes. Carefully wrap the pipe cleaner around the floral wire and position the leaves as desired. Stick the bottom of your new 'rose bud' stem into the foam in the pot.

Make as many flowers as desired and arrange in the pot. Makes a great gift!
