Instructions: We stuffed a piece of nylon with batting and gathered it around the base to make the witch's head. To make the face, we just used embroidery thread to sew the eyes, nose and mouth. Once you have sewn the face, you just pull the extra nylon down into the hole of the cone and glue the head onto the cone shape made from black bristle board. We added a black construction paper cape to the cone. We glued a bunch of black wool to the top of the head and then added a construction paper hat made into a cone shape and decorated with sticker stars. The broom is simply made out of a larger twig with smaller twigs tied onto it with twine and a dab of glue to ensure that it stays together. She was really easy to make - the 6+ crowd was able to do her on their own with minimal instructions and I had to help my daugher (then 4) with the sewing part and the broom, but she was able to do the rest pretty much herself. Her witch sits upstairs on her bookcase! - See a larger photo of this craft completed by Ruth.
