Dedt Moroz

Dedt Moroz is Siberia's 'Father Ice'. Here is the legend behind him:

There once was a woman who had two stepdaughters, one was kind and one was wicked. One day, in a fit of rage, the stepmother threw the kind daughter out into the cold. Shortly thereafter, Dedt Moroz appeared on his sleigh. He was impressed with the stepdaughter's kindness, and he rewarded her with a gift of diamonds.

After hearing about this, the stepmother put her wicked stepdaughter out into the snow. The wicked girl threw a tantrum. This irritated Dedt Moroz so much that he turned her into ice.
