Katie's Scrapbook and T-Shirt Quilt
See a picture of the photo and t-shirt scrapbook quilt I made for my daughter for her high school graduation.

I thought I would share a picture of the quilt I made for my daughter's high school graduation. She was very surprised and did not even miss the T-shirts I 'borrowed' to use on the quilt. If you look closely you will also see pictures she drew when she was a kindergartner, a variety of photos, special charms, certificates of acheivement, and much more.

I used a variety of shirts, from a t-shirt she got during a class trip as a senior and dating all the way back to a dance class she was in when she was 3 years old. I added photos that I scanned and then printed onto fabric. I also gathered school art projects, reports, original poems, and certificates she received and scanned them and printed them on fabric. I used my embroidery machine and made some smaller fabric squares that included inspirational quotes and designs that were related to her school days. The tricky part was putting them all together, I tried to lay them all out but finally figured out it was just easier to grab them as I went along. I made 4 seperate 'columns' that you can probably pick out in the picture. I pieced different parts together and sometimes used extra fabric to fill up spaces. As a finishing touch, I added special charms, buttons, and appliques.
