Fireplace Christmas Card
Faithwalker explains how to make a unique Christmas card that looks like a tiny fireplace!

Materials Needed:

  • Construction paper
  • Typing paper
  • Red paint
  • Styrofoam tray
  • Glue
  • Green yarn
  • Glitter
  • Yellow tissue paper
  • Pencil
  • Fine point markers
Instructions:

1. Cut construction paper to 6" x 9" and fold in half. (We used multicolored paper.)

2. Cut a 5" x 2 1/2" fireplace shape from styrofoam tray and score lines in it to make bricks.

3. Pour red paint into another styrofoam tray and dip the fireplace cut-out in the paint. Make a print of the fireplace on the bottom edge of the card.

4. After the red paint has dried, glue green yarn to look like garland below mantle and decorate with glitter.

5. Use pieces of tissue paper for the flames in the fire.

6. Make a few tiny cards to set on the mantle. Use folded pieces of typing paper, pencils, and markers to make a picture on the outside and a greeting on the inside. Glue onto the mantle.

7. On the inside of the construction paper card write "Merry Christmas from the (your last name) family" [or any other greeting] and let each person sign it.

8. We made envelopes from 7" x 10" typing paper. Fold the bottom edge up 4 1/2". Glue the edges together with a glue stick. Place the card inside and fold the top down. Glue shut.
