Special Placemat Craft
Submitted by Tammy P.

Materials Needed:

  • Construction Paper
  • Paper Plate
  • Glue
  • Magazines

Instructions:
I started with one big piece of construction paper. We take a paper plate and cut off the part that curves up so it will lay flat on the paper then we glue it on. We find in magazines pictures of silverware and cut them out and glue them in the proper places as we do with a picture of a glass. Then we take a paper napkin seperate the ply so it is only one ply and cut it so it is the size of a folded up napkin and glue it down. I write on the paper under or on each place setting what it is. And a message "Did you wash your hands?" With a picture of soap and a hand. I take these all to be laminated so they are waterproof and washable. The kids use this everyday when they eat. You can exchange the objects with other cut out from construction paper in the shape of place settings. But this seems more real. You need to find the thinest plates and make sure that no curve is still there before you glue it down.
