Sponge Prints
Try your hand at printmaking by creating lovely items using sponges.

Materials Needed:

  • Sponge
  • Styrofoam Plate, Meat Tray, or Other Shallow Dish
  • Construction Paper
  • Paint
Instructions:
A variety of sponges can be used to make prints. Buy sponge squares or sheets and cut out your own shapes or buy preformed shapes. This is great for specific holiday crafts too! Make great gifts, wrapping paper, more.

Pour paint into the center of the styrofoam plate, etc. Dip the sponge into the paint. Dab it around on the styrofoam to cover the spongue completely and wipe off any excess paint. Then, press it onto the paper or other surface to make a unique print.

You can also use fabric paint and make a T-shirt, towels, etc!
