Ribbon Angel Craft
Follow the directions shared by GrammieAnn from CA and you can make a cute ribbon angel!

Materials Needed:

  • 12-15 yards 1/4" to 1/2" ribbons in mix of coordinating colors ( use a mix of white or cream, a solid color, lace, and gold or silver - you may also want to use lengths of tiny faux pearls or tiny rosettes - and you may also use some wired ribbon that can be curled for a few of the lengths)
  • Porcelain doll head and arms (head about 1" - 1 1/2", arms in proportion)
  • Wired Gauze or Feather Wings (proportionate size - appx. 4", but can be larger or smaller)
  • 3"-4" Doily
  • Small 1" - 1 1/2" length of tiny faux pearls (or, consider the little wedding rings you can find in a craft store for use in making wedding favors, etc. - as on picture)
  • Pipe (Chenille) Stems
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Tiny flowers or other pretty decorative piece(s), including strand of mini- pearls or ring for halo
Instructions:

1. Cut all ribbon into 2 ft. lengths

2. Drape ribbon over center of chenille stem (1 ft. on each side) then fold and twist stem to hold in place.

3. Fill doll head with glue, then jam folded top of ribbon well into head.

4. Wrap another chenille stem around ribbon, just below head, under shoulders; cut each stem arm to a length twice the length of the porcelain arm.

5. Fill each porcelain arm with hot glue, then place one on each arm stem (be sure to position the hands so that the thumbs are on correctly).

6. Cut a hole in the center of the doily just big enough to slip over doll's head, then gather and hot glue at the back of the neck to fit.

7. Now hot glue the wings onto the back.

8. Hot glue a small circle of pearls on the head to form a halo - or try using one of the small gold wedding rings you can find in the wedding decoration section of your craft store (when using a ring, you can sort of tip the ring up at the front to give an ever better halo look – see picture).

9. Now make a tiny, but pretty, bow for the neckline at the front; and consider placing a flower or something in one hand. I often put a length of ribbon on a flower, place the flower in one hand and run the ribbon to the other.
