Table Top Turkey
|
 |
Make a turkey using paint, a hand print, and a few other supplies - submitted by Jill in Wisconsin.
Materials Needed:
- 2 Paper or styrofoam bowls
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Straw
- Staples
- Paint
Instructions:
This is a fun project for a parent to do with a child.
- Trace 4 adult hands and 4 child hands on different colored construction paper. Cut them out. Cut the thumbs off of 2 of the adult hands.
- Glue the 4 adult hands together (spread apart)in a creative way to make the turkeys tail; set aside.
- Glue 2 sets of 2 kid hands together (spread apart) to make 2 turkey wings;set aside.
- Paint the outsides of both of the bowls with brown paint (or any color desired). When they dry, staple the rims together, with the outsides out to make the turkeys body. Poke a small hole with the end of scissors in on the edge of the top bowl. This will be where the neck goes.
- Glue the 2 thumbs to the straw, making surethat there is straw sticking out the bottom. Stick into the hole you made for the neck.
- Glue the tail on the back of the body, and glue the wings on the top so they stick out to the sides.
- Cut out 2 feet to glue to the bottom, a beak, and any other features you would like to glue on your turkey.
This makes a really cute centerpiece! If you store it carefully, it will not fall apart. We are using ours for the second year.
