Hand Turkey Placemat
Follow these directions and make a cute Thanksgiving placemat craft - shared by Sami in NC.

Materials:

  • Constrution paper (any color will do)
  • Crayons
  • Red and brown markers

Instructions:
First, choose the color of paper you want. Trace your hand on the paper. Color the palm area and thunb of the traced hand brown and the fingers any color you want! Use the brown marker to make a face and beak on the turkey's head (thumb area) and use the red marker to make the wattle of the turkey.

Once you get the handprint turkey colored how you want it; then, at the top of the page, write "Happy Thanksgiving" and the name of the person you are making the placecard for. When you are finished, you will have a beautiful thanksgiving day placemat!!

You can also use this idea to make placemats for the other holidays and seasons!

Tip from Sherri: To ensure the placemat lasts longer, you can cover it on both sides with clear contact paper.
