By Judy Ann Sadler (Kids Can Press) Review by Sherri Osborn
Do you know what corking is? You have perhaps tried this craft before, or atleast heard about it. It also goes by the name of finger knitting, spool knitting, and othe names I am sure. There are not any fancy supplies or skills needed to do this craft, and the finsihing results can be very impressive.
Corking is a fun, easy, and no-mess craft. You use a corker and yarn to create lengths of knitted tubing. These tubes can then be used to make many creations. You can make anything from puppets and stuffed animals to hair scrubchies and scarfs.
This books shares ideas for making a variety of different sized corkers, knitting spools, or whatever you want to call them. Recycle toilet tissue rolls to make small corkers. Tin cans can be used to make large corkers.
After you make yourself a corker or two, follow the directions in this book to make more than 20 projects. The great descriptions and fun pictures make following along with the projects a breeze.
If you have never tried corking before or you have tried it before and want some new ideas, you should check out this book! It has lots of fun ideas for everyone.
