"Sending thoughts and prayers to anyone near Tuesday's tragedies, as well as to everyone else for something like this affects all of us..."

I should be working, but I have been unable to get much done since Tuesday's tragedy. I am sure many feel this same way. I must admit, however, that keeping my hands and mind busy with creative projects has atleast afforded me some much needed, although short lived, distraction.

On one hand I am tired of watching all the TV coverage which makes me cry a half-dozen times per day; on the other hand, I can't seem to tear myself away. One thing that has really touched me with all the media coverage is the way Americans, and many others, have pulled together through all this. The site of streets lined with people waving flags and cheering on the brave searchers make me proud to be an American.

I wanted to come up with a list of resources for all my great visitors, but that has been done... Instead, I would like to share a few creative resources you might find useful at this time. Make these patriotic crafts and hang them in your window, classroom, or office to show you are proud to be an American.

You can also make them and share them; how about delivering a red, white, and blue picture to your local fire department or police department to show them you appreciate them. Another idea would be to send them along with a monetary donation to the Red Cross or one of the organizations who are involved.

American Flag Coloring Page
Make and display this flag proudly, or send it along to fire fighters, shelters, or the Red Cross in New York!

Stars and Stripes Project
Jacci shares some ideas for a patriotic project that will fit in a window or envelop.

Graphics and Quotes
Judy shares some graphics with touching quotes. Print them out and include with a donation or give it to someone you care about; you can also easily make them into a magnet or brooch.

USA Candle
Leanne shares directions to make a pretend candle. Why not make one for everyone you know so they can display them in their windows.

Unity Wreath
Leanne shares another craft idea... Make this handprint wreath.

Thanks for taking the time to read this article; and God Bless America and all who love her.
