Definition: Refers to the ability of paper or other items to withstand the effects of time. In the case of printed items and Photosgraphs, the ability of the images to retain their color or blackness over long periods of time. In the case of paper, it is made with the intent of having an extended lifespan without discoloration or deterioration. Anything labeled archival should be acid free.
