- Age Guideline: 8 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Colorful Bristol Board
- Cellophane Tape
- Pen or Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
Instructions:
Using a ruler and a pen or pencil, draw a grid on your Bristol board that has 7 squares across and 4 squares down. Leave extra room at the top to write "December".
On a computer, make numbers (1 - 24) large enough to fill each square. Print them out and cut into squares that are just a little smaller than each square in your grid. You can also cut out 24 squares and write out the numbers.
Use cellophane tape to attach each number, in order, onto a square on your Bristol board. Place the cellophane tape along the top edge of the number so it acts as a hinge and you can lift and lower each number and look below it.
Finally, lift each number one at a time and write activity ideas directly onto the Bristol board. You can include games to play, crafts to make, cookies to bake, and just about anything else you like!
Suggestion from Sherri: If you prefer, you can use poster board or tagboard to make your activity calendar.
