The Bottom Line

Yet another great book by Altered Art author Beth Cotes - Find out how you can alter anything into a work of art! I could hardly wait to try some of the creative projects shared in this book. I wish there were more hours in a day so there was time to try them all right away!

Guide Review - Altered 104 - Altered Everything

Author Beth Cotes has several books out featuring creative collage projects and products too, and if you like any of her other books, make sure you check out this one! Altered 104 - Everything Has fresh new ideas using techniques shared in other books and more.

Just when you think you have seen it all as far as giving new life to older objects, this book brings you fresh, new ideas.  Alter outdated calendars, candy tins, art canvases, spiral bound books, wood boxes, coin holders and more!  Reinvent everything, from small scraps of craft materials to large travel cases, into visually exciting works of art.

I had a hard time choosing a favorite project out of this book. I am usually drawn to the unique and the surprising, and almost every project in this book made me say "Wow, why didn't I think of that!" There are some projects that are similar to projects offered on my site, such as using frozen juice can lids in crafts, but Beth Cotes even takes that to a new level. Amongst the pages full of colorful projects you will find direcions to make a poem book using coasters, a jewelry box using an old book, funky frames using foamboard, and even a tote bag using a book cover. You will also discover ways to give old lamps, suitcases, coin holder books, and Altoid tins new life.

This is definately my favorite, so far, of all the altered art and collage books available.
