For the 4 corners of the shelf, she used white tile grout. Once applied, she stuck in bits of a broken clay pot and some gold buttons that came off an old blouse. She also used a fork to create swirls and general texture and a brown crayon to highlight the ridges once the grout had dried.
The other bits and pieces in this project are scraps of brown and matte gold paper cut from fashion magazines, dried twigs, a CD and 2 bangles... Basically stuff that she happened to have lying around!
