- Age Guideline: 3 Years and Up
- Time Required: 20 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Construction Paper
- Craft Glue
- Clear Acrylic Spray
- Pin Backing
- Scissors
Instructions:
For each pin cut out about 20 maple leaf shapes. If you are making your pin for Canada Day, cut out 10 leaves using white and 10 leaves using red. You can also use a variety of Autumn leaf colors or variations for green. You want them all as close to the same size as you can get. Glue all the leaf cut-outs on top of each other with the edges lining up as evenly as possible. You will then have a stack of maple leafs. Let the glue dry.
Once the glue is dry, spray your maple leaf stack with a few coats of the acrylic sealer (let it dry between coats). This will make it shiny and more durable. Once the sealer is dry, glue the pin back in place.
For a little variation, you can decorate your pin with glitter, tiny stickers, sequins, etc.
