Con-Tact Paper Bookmarker Craft

Sherri Osborn
Alan explains how you can make a fun bookmarker using clear Con-tact paper.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 20 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Cut two pieces of one about 2-inches x 6- to 8-inches and one about 3-inches x 10-inches. Peel the paper back off of the smaller piece of Con-tact paper. Lay it sticky side up on your work surface. Now you can decorate the clear Con-Tact paper with a photo or two and glitter. You can actually use anything that isn't too thick. Stay about a 1/2-inch down from the edge that will be the top of your bookmark. Now peel the paper backing off of the second piece of Con-tact paper and place the sticky side over the sticky side on the decorated Con-Tact paper. Trim the edges even using scissors.

Punch a hole in the top of the bookmark. Cut a piece of string or yarn about - to 10-inches. Tie the string or yarn into the hole.

Note from Sherri: Instead of a photo, you can use pictures cut from magazines or stickers to add pictures to your bookmark.
