- Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Bottle Cap
- Acrylic Paint
- Cardboard
- Decorative Paper
- Beads
- Pin Backing (Smaller than the bottle cap)
- Clear Acrylic Spray
- Craft Glue
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
Instructions:
Start out with a clean, dry bottle cap. To add more dimension to your finished project, consider using a hammer to add dents and divots to the front of the bottle cap. Coat your bottle cap with acrylic paint. Let the paint dry.
Cut a piece of cardboard the same size as the back of the bottle cap. Cut a piece of decorative paper the same size as your cardboard piece. Glue the paper to the cardboard piece. Glue the cardboard, paper side out, to the back of the bottle cap. Let the glue dry.
Pour a small amount of glue in the center of the front of the brooch. Sprinkle some beads into the pool of glue. Let the glued beads dry completely. (It is important to use glue that dries hard and clear.)
After the brooch is completely dry, glue a pin back to the backside of brooch. Let the glued pin back dry completely.
9. In a well-ventilated area, spray the front and back of brooch with a clear acrylic spray. Let the brooch dry and then you can wear it with pride!
