- Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
- Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- Box with Lid
- Scrapbook Paper
- Ribbon
- Buttons
- Embroidery Floss and Needle
- Craft Glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
Cover your box, inside and out, with scrapbook paper. Measure around the box and cut a piece of ribbon that length.
Sew buttons onto the ribbon using embroidery floss. Leave enough extra embroidery floss on top of the buttons to tie a knot. Susannah warns that you will want to make sure the buttons don't fall at the corners. (Suggestion from Sherri: Hold the ribbon in place around the box and use a pen to make small dots where you want to add the buttons). Once you have all of the buttons sewn in place, glue the ribbon in place around the box.
To make the ribbon flower on the top of the box, make small loops of ribbon and tie them with floss in the center. Glue the loops on the top of the box. Sew a stack of buttons together and glue them in the center of the box lid.
Now you can stash all of your buttons inside your lovely box so they are ready for your next craft or sewing project!
