Button Jewelry Craft

Learn how you can make unique bracelets, necklaces, and even rings to give as gifts or to wear yourself. With the variety of buttons available you can make dozens and not two will be alike. If you have some extra buttons lying around but no elastic thread or stretch cord, you can use dental floss!

• Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

• Buttons
• Beads (optional)
• Elastic Thread or Stretch Cord
• Scissors

Instructions:
Start out by measuring the elastic thread or stretch cord by holding it around your wrist, neck, or finger. Cut a piece about 6-inches longer than your measurement.

String on a bead or button and tie to secure about 3-inches from one end. You can now start stringing buttons and beads onto the thread or cord. For the buttons, they can string them through two holes to make the button lay flat, alternating with coordinating beads if desired.

Once you have the desired number of buttons and beads on your piece of jewelry, tie the two ends together. You can remove the first anchor bead you tied on if you like.
