What do you do with 2975 paper towel tubes?

Build an ark, of course!

This Noah's ark was built by Kim Fanning and Sandy Hatton for a Fourth of July Parade. It is a totally "green" float. It measures 16' long, 8' wide, and 13' tall.

Along with the paper towel tubes, there are 5 larger 4" diameter cardboard tubes that were cut in half to hide the "seams" and brown paper bags were put inside the windows to conceal the balloons that are inside. The balloons were not released into the atmosphere! They were just let up as far as their stings would stretch & then pulled back down. All the animals are flea market and yard sale finds, and they were donated to a local children's shelter after the parade). The skirting was made from plastic table cloths.
