CD Hover Craft
How to Make a Hover Craft Using a CD

By , About.com Guide

Lebenheimer explains how you can create a hover craft using an old CD, a balloon, and a water bottle lid.[p]
  • Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

  • 1 CD
  • Pop-Up Sports/Water Bottle Lid
  • Balloon
  • Strong Glue

Instructions:
Glue the lid onto the cd over the center hole. Make sure that it is glued securely and that no air can leak out of it. Close lid but don't glue it shut. Decorate cd as you wish. Let the glue dry.

To make the hover craft work, blow up the balloon, pinch it closed, and place it over top of lid. Place it on floor and open lid. The air coming out of balloon creates a hover craft type toy.
