Making the Holes in the CDs

Take 1 CD and mark four dots on the printed side, directly across from each other near the edge of the CD. Looking at the CD, you will want the dots to be near the north edge, the south edge, the west edge, and the east edge.

Drill a 9/16" drill bit into a block of wood. Leave it stuck in the wood. Stack 6 CD's, with the marked one on top, over the drill bit. The drill bit will be in the center hole of the CDs.

Starting one one of your marks on the top CD, drill a hole through the mark and down through all 6 CD's. Stay as close to the edge as possible.

Cut a short piece of wire and loop it through the holes you just drilled in all 6 CD's and twist it snug with the pliers. This will keep all of the CD's lined up for the next 3 holes that you will drill on the marks you made. Once you have all of the holes drilled, snip the wire to separate the CD's.
