How to Paint Easter Eggs

Brigitte Hoffmann
Brigitte Hoffmann shared this picture of Easter eggs that she hand painted. She used them as a decoration for an Easter tree. Here is the process Brigitte used to make these painted easter eggs:

  1. Empty egg through two small holes (top and bottom centered)

  2. Clean thoroughly inside and outside with soap and at the end with vinegar (inside and outside)

  3. Let dry several days

  4. Paint with one coat gesso

  5. Paint the base color with tempera

  6. Paint the design with tempera

  7. Glaze with natural or glitter glaze or crackle glaze

  8. Let dry and start hanging.
