"My older son wore a ladybug costume two years ago. Because it was made with entirely with red and black felt and some ribbon, I didn't have to hem anything! I drew the circle, with a bottom v-shaped notch, by hand on large newsprint paper to use as a template for both the top red and bottom black part. Then I sewed black felt circles on the top (red part) of the bug "shell." I also made my own template for a vest that I sewed onto the 'shell' for him to wear it by." ~ Teresa
