The first thing I did when I received this book was open the cover to read through the table of contents mainly to see what dog patterns are offered. I was a tad confused because listed in the table of contents was a section called Basic Knitting Techniques yet the subtitle of this book is Seriously Cute Crochet. I immediately flipped to the Basic Knitting Techniques section to investigate.
The book offers patterns to make 12 different kinds of dogs:
- Chihuahua
- Welsh Corgi
- Japanese Shiba
- Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
- Miniature Dachshund
- Siberian Husky
- Labrador Retriever
- Maltese
- Miniature Schhnauzer
- French Bulldog
- Beagle
- Pug
At the end of the book you will find step by step illustrations for the crochet stitches you will need to use for the projects in this book. There are step-by-step, colored photos showing you how to create the Japanses Shiba dog along with charts and illustrations to help you along. For all of the other dogs, you will find charts and illustrations.
I wouldn't recommend this book for someone who doesn't have any crochet experience, but I do think the projects and easy enough for someone who knows the basics. The patterns are a great way to learn more crochet techniques and a great way to practice!
