Let's face it, we all have clothes hanging in our closets that we will never wear again; heck, some of us have clothes in our closet we haven't even worn once and will never wear. If you can't bear the thought of giving those clothes away, why not use them to create fun stuffed creatures. John Murphy, author of Closet Monsters, will inspire you to do just that.

Murphy shares 13 unique monsters you can create using cast off clothing. He is hoping you will use his monsters to learn the techniques, methods, and procedures you need to create your own closet monsters. He guides you though what kind of clothing works best, what sewing tools and supplies you will need, and different sewing techniques and terminology - all with a sense of humor!

Just as important as learning how to stitch together your closet monsters is learning how to disassemble the clothing you select. Murphy explains his favorite methods for taking apart clothing and he also includes "Disassembly Charts" for each project in the book.

The monsters in this book are adorable. Your biggest problem might be trying to narrow it down to which one you want to make first. Each one has a unique name, story, and personality. I think my personal favorites are Lurwin Obsgarde (made using a buffalo plaid jacket), Gilmor Oothby (made using a striped sweater), and Blarty Dween (made using a pair of cargo pants). Now if you will excuse me, it is time to go dig in my closet... and maybe my husband's closet too!
