While I wouldn't usually write a review of a quilting book (I usually leave those for our wonderful quilting Guide), but the projects in this book are great for beginners.
This book will help you get started on your quilting adventure or just trying to expand on the skills you have. The author, Susan Beal, starts out by sharing a brief history of log cabin quilts. She then guides you through choosing fabric, thread, batting, and the other supplies you will need.
Once you learn more about what you need, you can move onto learning some easy quilting techniques. Learn about cutting your fabric, creating quilt blocks, and tips about pressing the seams. Once your blocks are made you will join them together to complete a quilt top and then quilt it.
To help you practice these techniques, this book offers directions for 25 fun and easy projects. You will be amazed at the variety of projects you can make using log cabin blocks. Of course, you can create a quilt, but you can also make a coaster set, pillows, an apron, a camera case, and so much more!
If you want to try your hand at quilting, log cabin blocks are a great way to start and this book is a great resource!
