Baby Stuff Book

The Bottom Line

This isn't your typical craft book. While you will find colored pictures of all of the completed projects and step-by-step directions, the pages are set up in comic book fashion. The directions are easy to follow along with and each step also includes a drawn picture to show you how to do it. I think this book will not only appeal to adults wanting to make baby gifts, but also children who want to try sewing for a younger family member or friend.

Guide Review - Baby Stuff Book

Most older kids and some adults are familiar with the Aranzi Aronzo characters. Aranzi Aronzo combined "so-cute-it-hurts with a snarky attitude" to create a large selection of funky and unique characters. While the characters featured in this book are all cute and appropriate for babies, I think older kids will also relate to some of them.

If you are like me, and hate to read the directions for projects, this book is for you. Being set up to look more like a comic book, it offers step-by-step pictures with very few written instructions. The directions are easy to understand and follow along with. Also included are any necessary patterns and a 'Before You Start' section covering basic supplies, sewing techniques, and even tips for transferring patterns.

You will find 17 projects to make. Among these are bibs, animal-shaped towels, stuffed animals, and a growth chart. I especially like the mobile featuring cute, little lambs and the bottle holders. There are plenty of options that include using applique techniques and embroidery techniques. Most of these projects can be done by hand or on a sewing machine.

If you are not familiar with the Aranzi Aronzo characters, check out their Web Site. Not only do they offer this fun craft book, they offer a variety of other books, most laid out like comic books, that feature their cute and scary characters. If you take a peak at their Web Site, I am sure you will recognize something you have seen before.
