Organizing Yarn Balls

Find out how Sylrayj uses an egg carton to organize balls of yarn.

From , former About.com Guide

"I had been working on a sweater which used two colorways, but being me, I couldn't do it simply. I set up the pattern by using four strands of very lightweight, very soft crochet cotton. Every row I would switch out one of the strands of each of three sections for the next color in the series. Ultimately, I needed a dozen little balls in each of five different colors!

I didn't want them to get tangled, and I didn't want to have to sort them out every time I picked up my knitting again, so I used egg cartons to hold the balls in series. When I sat down to knit, I'd bring out my egg cartons and open them and everything was nicely arranged for me.

I never did finish the sweater. I turned it into a pillowcase instead."
