How to Print From Your Hard Drive

How to Print Coloring Book Pages and Other Images

By , About.com Guide

My preferred method for printing coloring pages, calendars, and other images is to save it onto my Desktop and print it from my computer. I prefer this method mainly because you can easily resize and reposition the image on the page.

The way you do this is similar no matter what browser or computer you have:

  1. Start out by placing your cursor over the desired picture and click your right mouse button once (click and hold your mouse button on a MAC) - a menu will pop-up.

  2. One of the options in the menu that appears should be to save the image or picture. Choose that option by clicking on it, and a Save As box should appear.

  3. Save the picture to your hard drive - make sure you pay attention to what folder the graphic is saved into! TIP: I often save the pictures to my desktop just so I know where it is!

Now, what happens next will vary depending on what what kind of graphics program you have on your computer. I use Paint Shop Pro 8 (I am not sure how well the newest version of paint Shop Pro would work); however, you can experiment with whatever graphics program you do have.

Which ever program you use, you will simply open the file you saved using the graphics program. Use the graphics program itself or the page set-up function to adjust the size of the picture you want to print. Then, the only thing left to do is to print!
