How to Recycle a Suitcase

The inside of my vintage suitcase really needed help. Not only was is moldy and smelly, some of the edges of the liner were pulling away from the suitcase itself. I really liked the layout of the suitcase, especially all of the pockets. I liked it so much I considered trying to clean it up and glue it back together, but then I realized there was no way to save it.

I did a lot of thinking and some research on Pinterest to figure out what I wanted to do with it. First, I had to figure out what I wanted to use it for. I considered making it into a doll house for my granddaughter, buy I thought perhaps a newer suitcase might serve that purpose better. I settled on making it into a sewing/craft kit with a magnetic lid.
