There are many ways that you can not only stay up-to-date on what is going on here at About.com's Family Crafts site, but also participate! You can join in the discussion on one of the message boards. You can submit your own craft projects and tips to be included in our ever-growing craft project library or submit a photo of crafts you have completed. Don't forget to sign up for our weekly newsletter, an e-course, and this site's RSS feed. Find out more about the options that interest you:

Visit a Family Crafts Message Board

Meet and chat with others on one of the Family Crafts message boards. You can share craft ideas, ask for help with finding or finishing a project, or just chit-chat and make new friends with similar interests. These are open to people of all ages and abilities. If you have a problem or question, there is sure to be someone who can lend you a hand.

You can drop by either the Family Crafts Forum or the Holiday Family Fun Forum and browse as a guest, but to join in any of the discussions or start your own thread you must register; but, don't worry, registering is free, quick and easy.

Subscribe to the Family Crafts Newsletter or Email Course

To get weekly updates and craft projects, sign up for the Family Crafts Newsletter. Currently, the Family Crafts newsletter is sent out on Thursday morning. You can also sign up for one of my special e-courses, which are like specific 'classes' delivered to your email box at regular intervals. You will want to make sure you set your email box and spam filters to allow mail from me (familycrafts.guide@about.com) to get through. You can sign up for one or all of these options.

Submit Your Ideas to Family Crafts

My site is your site... Not only do I pride myself in giving my visitors what they want, but also in giving them a place where they can share their craft ideas and tips. Take a moment, use one of these simple forms, and share your unique talents, crafty recipes, helpful hints, project ideas, and more with everyone who visits the Family Crafts site.

Share Pictures of Your Projects

I am adding new, visitor-submitted photos to the Family Crafts site all the time. If you complete a project posted on my site, feel free to snap a photo and send it to me. Besides adding pictures of finished crafts to specific project pages, I also have several photo galleries where new photos are always welcome. Check out my current galleries and then send in your pictures.

Subscribe to the RSS feed

Rich Site Summary (or Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for content distribution. About.com offers an RSS and JavaScript feed with headlines, descriptions and links back to the Family Crafts site. This allows you to easily feature or check out the latest headlines from the Family Crafts site. The headline changes almost everyday so sign up for the RSS feed and don't miss a thing.

Make Family Crafts Your Home Page

When you open up your Web browser, the very first page that you see is called your home page. You can change the setting in your browser so that your home page can be any Web page you want... Me, I think the Family Crafts Web site is a great choice! The method for changing your home page is a little different depending on your browser. If these directions don't help, read through your browser's help section.

  • You can leave your thoughts and comments whenever you like using the comments link which you will find at the bottom of each blog post.
  • Of course, you can use the Bookmarks or Favorites to save a specific page.
  • While really not interactive, you might want to find inspiration from our events calendar.
